Jamnagar (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated ‘Vantara’, a state-of-the-art wildlife conservation, rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This ambitious project houses over 2000 species and provides shelter to more than 1.5 lakh rescued endangered and threatened animals from across the world.
During his visit, PM Modi spent nearly seven hours at the facility, closely interacting with the rescued animals. In heartwarming moments, he was seen feeding milk to lion cubs, caressing elephants and observing leopards, chimpanzees, dolphins, and birds up close.
A 7-minute 39-second video released from the visit captures PM Modi engaging with various wild animals, particularly different species of lions, whom he was seen gently stroking and observing with curiosity.
‘Vantara’ is the brainchild of Anant Ambani, son of Reliance Group chairman Mukesh Ambani. This initiative aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for rescued wildlife, offering top-notch veterinary care, rehabilitation, and conservation efforts.
